I opened alliant membership, I've had them in the past a couple times too but ultimately kept closing it out.. thanks to my indecisiveness but I opened it back because I needed a free checking with Zelle in it, go figure.. They dont have it.. There's a fee of $10 which im not worried about paying, but i was seeking advice to close this properly without being blacklisted at all if I should wait 90 days and close it without a fee or.. opinions?
Plenty of banks and credit unions, I personally wouldn't get too worried if Alliant chose to blacklist me because I closed out my accounts.
Just tell them that you thought they offered something with membership which they don't and for you not having it is a dealbreaker so you want to part ways as friends.

From what I've read, if you close checking/savings prematurely (or otherwise) it'll potentially show up on ChexSystems. Not sure whether Alliant CU would blacklist based on what you described @Anonymous.
@AnonymousThis is not the question you asked but Affinity FCU offers free checking with Zelle. Their checking acct also has 1% cashback as a FYI.
