@lg8302ch: new iPhones will be available in a couple of months so I'd hold off.

Highly recommend the Apple Watch just for Apple Pay/NFC.

Hi tmiw. FT and MF worlds colliding. Smiley Happy

oh...too late but you know in Europe we will not get the lastest edition iPhone 6 Plus until the providers have use their stock....but 339$ for the 6 Plus 64GB was quite a nice offer so I took it... Yesterday I did set up Apple Pay and the first struggle was that the country and region settings had to be set to  US or it did not show Apple Pay Smiley Sad ..thanks to Apple support  Germany that was trying  very hard to find out where this feature was hiding.  It was a big challenge to them as well. Second I found it very interesting how each lender has their own way of authentication. A real challenge was Barclays with their phone verification and a ton of questions I really had a hard time to answer these questions...lol... well the cards I intend to use  are now ready to use  and today I tried to pay at a kiosk in Switzerland...hmm... the contactless terminal did open up Apple Pay and showed my default card but when I put my thumb on the home button  it activated speech function instead... I guess I will need to google first on how to  proceed  afterwards or try when there is nobody waiting behind.  ... hope it was just because I touched it too hard..lol... The cashier was of course very suspicious of my payment attempt as nobody here can pay like this. They all use their credit cards at the terminals and not their phones (Apple Pay is only available in the US so far)... so off I go tomorrow with the next attempt and hopefully will be successfull. Watched a Youtube video afterwards and it looks the way I tried to pay Smiley Sad . ..so not sure what I did wrong that it did not work for me.

Rest your finger on the button - do not push it in.

I think it's silly to blame your card number being stolen on Apple Pay. I am not a big fan of Apple Pay, but not because I'm afraid of my card info being stolen. It's just because I don't feel that taking out my phone to pay is significantly easier than just swiping my card. I just don't see the big gain, and I think a lot of the general public agrees. Do people use it? Sure. Will it completely replace physical cards? Not anytime soon.

I think it's fair to say that taking out your phone and paying isn't dramatically easier than pulling out a wallet and swiping (although using on the Apple Watch is *much* easier). The biggest benefit is privacy and security, which people should be more educated about. Merchants never get your name or other information, your card number never changes hands/wires or is even stored on the device, you can remotely disable Apple Pay per device instead of canceling and re-issuing all your cards. Considering all the merchant hacks that have happened in the past couple years (Target, Home Depot, Staples, and so on), I'll take the mildly more convenient but infinitely more secure way to pay.

I don't think AmEx recognized that as bonus spend ("Internet Services" at the bottom). Is there a way to see how much exactly you got for cash back?

My BCE card was opened the end of March. So far it hasn't reported any cash back, so I really don't know of a way to confirm it. I know I have to spend $615 by June 13 or I won't qualify for the $100 bonus. I'm leary of that since they've only given me a $2k CL. Getting the $100 bonus was so easy with QS and Chase Freedom with having to spend $500 for $100 bonus.

MstrPalTato.. you are my hero!  I simply was not used to not really press the home button as on my old phone I only touched that button and had to press it as it had no other purpose..lol.. Kind of automatically did it with the iPhone 6 Plus as well. Smiley Embarassed

Today I used Apple Pay with two merchants in Switzerland for the very first time and both times it got the merchants attention..."what are you doing? you cannot pay with a phone "   In disbelieve the sales staff gathered around the terminal and were convinced nothing would happen.....what a shock to them when the payment worked...ha ha.. It was quite an interesting thing as Apple Pay does not yet exist outside the US and in Switzerland they have never heard of it as it is not even visible in the iPhone menue options unless you change your country and region to USA.  Because all the Swiss credit cards are set for contactless payments automatically the terminals are pretty much all equipped with the option.  So they are very familiar that the actual credit card has to be placed on the contactless terminal but have never seen someone paying with a phone.  I love Apple Pay and will only use it like that because it finally gets rid of the annoying signature and wait for a double paper slip to print (merchant copy and customer copy) . I hate to sign paperslips and now it even is faster than chip and pin Smiley Happy  I am a very big fan of the Apple Pay function  and the best feature of my new phone Smiley Happy
