So today I go to make payment on my BECU card and my access is blocked. I call in and representative states "they need to verify my identity" with that being said I need to fax in 6 months of paystubs and last two years of pay stubs. Seems strange just wondering if anyone has come across this issue.

Didn't BECU verify your identity before approving you for the $40,000 credit card and $15,000 LOC you posted about earlier? Seem like now they want to verify your income, not your identity.
I'm really sorry to see this happen to you.
Do a search on the forum. And you'll see it's happened to quite a few us.
Me included!! 😂
I can laugh now, I was pissed when it happened.
For some reason BECU believes they're the only CU in the country.😆
I'd find another CU to do business with that doesn't have yahoos running the fraud department. JMHO
I had several thousand dollars in the BECU account when they locked me out.
BECU security department strikes again. Haven't seen this specific scenario, but not surprising. Just consider yourself lucky it doesn't have to be taken in branch. Often requested!! Good luck!
Representative said it's the Financial crimes unit. I'm like financial crimes **bleep**?
I’d tell them where they can shove their fax machine, but I’m not the most subtle person.
For a $250k 30 year mortgage at 3.5% that you can't modify unless I default you get all the Proof Of Income you want from me, for a credit card at 19.99% that you can close anytime you get stated income. Period.

Yeah many of us have dealt with that unit before. Those of us who had our accounts frozen after we started using them tend to be more bitter about it than people who got put through the process right away.
Beware, they may want you to fax them the documents in color... That's been their new jam lately. ![]()
Yes I was one of the many who were locked out of my accounts after I opened received cards and funded my accounts. After I sent proof on my identity and even after they said they received it, it took several more phone calls before they were unfrozen.
However their request for that many paystubs seems to appear to be about proving your income and not your identity at all.

@Gmood1 Hopefully you were able to withdraw your funds. Are you still a BECU member?
Sounds to me like they are more concerned with the current economic times and seeing to it they will be paid. Not so much the "identity theft" they are hiding behind.
