BOA converting me to Core Checking

Well, I knew this day would come eventually. I have an  old, E-Banking account they got rid of along time ago which was free as long as you did every transaction through an ATM and online and never bothered a teller. Lol. Too easy. No balance requirements or transaction requirements whatsoever.

BOA isn't my main bank so nothing really goes in it unless I make a deposit through an ATM and/or I receive funds from someone through the instant transfer. The sending money back and forth is what it's used most for.

Does anyone know if a Paypal transaction or sending money from say Santander or Capital1 counts as a qualified deposit of $250 to avoid the $12 fee? I really don't want to keep $500 in there just to avoid it either.

Re: BOA converting me to Core Checking

I got 100$  bonus by transferring 251 from amex serve which counted as DD for BOA. Although i didnt keep the account long enough after the bonus to check if amex serve transfers waive the fee or not but i dont see why not if it  works as DD for bonus Smiley Wink

I am a BOA employee, no PayPal or those other type transactions will not count as a direct deposit. It must be an ACH payment.
