Chexsystems Scores

I was denied an account with a credit union due to Chexsystems. I was shocked because I currently have 2 bank accounts (1 with Simple and 1 with my local credit union). My accounts are in good standing. So I got my Chexsystems report and it says no data to report- it's empty. So I went back to the credit union showed them I had a clean report. They then told me that it was due to a score that Chexsystems gives them. I don't see how I can be denied although my report is clean. Is Chexsystem scoring new?...

Re: Chexsystems Scores

That's unfair. I have never filed for bankruptcy, ever. I made a mistake while I was in college back in 2011. I wrote myself a check with the expectation that my payroll was going to deposit the following day. My payroll didn't deposit until the day after, so check obviously bounced and they called it kiting aka fraud. I will never make such a dumb mistake again, but I still feel as if I'm being punished for that stupid mistake I made when I was a struggling college student. It sucks!

Re: Chexsystems Scores

Entries only stay on Chexsystems for 5 years as far as I know
NFCU $60.4k/PenFed $22.5k/Commerce $15K/53 $11K/Synovus $14K/BBT $11K/CapOne $12K/DCU $7.5K/BMO $7.5K/Chase $14.5k/Cabelas $10K/ and many many more!
Total CL $398600, plus car and RV loan.
Ooh. Ooh. Getting closer to that $500K mark!

Re: Chexsystems Scores

Find a different credit union. I had nothing on my Chexsytems report but the credit union I applied at wouldn’t open a regular checking account for me and offered to open a second chance checking account. I refused and just opened a checking account with a major bank. There are plenty of good credit unions out there that would appreciate your business.
