Okay, I found it. This is awesome! Thanks so much!

You can't use credit card anymore. Man, if they did...or if they allowed you to use PP Key as the debit card source when PayPal still allowed you to link PP Key to credit cards, dude 🤣

You worried me, I was just able to pay using a credit card.  What issue did you get?

Oh. I think that it's because I was trying to pay a credit card bill. "Pay using debit card or bank. Credit cards can't be used for this transaction."

By the way, can gc be used as a debit? ETA: I found a test card and it actually said that my payment would be processed, but when I called the gc company (bc they blocked me from the site for checking too many gc 🤣), they said that they just see a one cent pending auth from PP. Do they accept gc and how does it appear on the statement?

Re: Cash back debit card accounts without strings attached?

Are there any debit cards out there (Even with Kasasa) that give > 3% cash back with a wide membership footprint? Plastiq charges 2.85% commission on debit card payments but paying bills via Debit cards with >= 3 %cash back would come out in profit to pay monthly bills

Haven't seen anything about that and haven't tried it.  Would be good for certain activities if that worked!

I don't believe that it works w gc bc I still haven't received an email receipt and there's no pending charge. @kremonis, I made a test payment w a Discover debit and the funds came out of my acct immediately and I got an email receipt.

@cr101

A Reddit user tried using Discover debit card with PayPal bill pay. They did not receive cash back.

Darn. You're likely right. I thought that this was about the card being rejected outright. I'll confirm in a few days when the statement closes.

Re: Cash back debit card accounts without strings attached?

I didn't get cashback with Affinity or Discover.

Affinity credit posted later today.

Cash back debit card accounts are a dime a dozen. Almost all the ones I have heard of fall under the Kasasa brand and have a lot of hoops to jump through to get the cash back. For example, you may have make 12-15 signature debit cards transactions and have a $500 or direct deposit to qualify for the cash back.

Affinity Federal Credit Union is unique. It has cash back debit card account with no strings. It does not appear to branded or affiliated with the Kasasa brand. You get 1% cash back capped on $1000 spend for a maximum $10 cash back per month. No minimum debit card transactions and no direct deposit requirements.

Are any other cash back debit card accounts, like the one at Affinity Federal Credit Union, with no strings attached. Preferably anyone could join?

EDIT: Here is one : https://www.quontic.com/banking/checking/cash-rewards-checking/

Edit 2: Never mind Quontic bank. They have scathing reviews at depositaccounts.com

@Bill77

Unfortunately, I have read Discover cash back debit card does not work with PayPal bill pay like Affinity does. That is a must have for me.

Hello @kremonis

Joining the bandwagon,

Can you please share which rewards checking account you've used or heard of that work successfully with PayPal Bill Pay?

Does Quontic Debit Card work?

Thank you in advance!

Amex checking debit card pays rewards points. No hoops. Also pays 1% interest. I don't know anything I can pay with it that I can't pay with a credit card.

How about the Paypal business debit.   I think that pays 1% up to a reasonable cap.  And maybe that will work with bill pay

ETA: or is Paypal bill pay only on consumer accounts?   I have both and get confused as to what is available where
