Credit Unions

Are their any credit unions that I can join for going to the University of Denver?

I would personally recommend looking at a national credit union because of the local ones are pretty meh. Navy Federal has branches here, DCU has shared branching.

Bellco is okay. I didn't have any complaints with them.

FWIW, the university seems to be linked with US Bank rather than a CU. https://www.du.edu/pioneercard/yourcard/banking.html

pick one or pick all. It's up to you

don't narrow yourself to local ones

Re: Credit Unions

Lately I've been thinking ENT CU is ever so slightly interesting (and going to school in Denver or the surrounding counties qualifies you), but IMHO Saeren's right - the CUs around here aren't all that impressive. There are national ones that could benefit you more depending what you want.

Blue and PMCU have made their way down to Boulder/Broomfield, are part of the Co-op/Shared Branch network, and have somewhat piqued my interest, but:

1. it seems like they've been picky admitting new members lately

2. aside from 1 or 2 quirky deposit accounts they're about average

3. they're actually available nationwide

It's probably both.  My alma matter has a US Bank relationship and promotes it to students, but there's also a CU for students, faculty, and staff that has a branch on campus.

It's possible but there is indeed a US Bank branch right on campus.

Canvas also has a branch on University. It's not on campus but it's less than half a mile away. There are a few CUs in that area.

We actually have a lot more CUs here than I would expect. Where I live there are 15 within 5 miles and I'm in a smaller south-western suburb.
