Direct deposit question

So this has nothing to do with credit or fi/co. But I have a quick question, and I was wondering if any of you guys would know. So I am a beneficiary to some social security benefits every single month they get posted on the 1st of the month. There are some times that the first falls on a weekend and it defaults to Monday but this first was kind of different.

Now I know this first wave a federal holiday so that probably threw things off and then I'm freaking out over nothing lol. But I would have thought that the direct deposit would have hit my account today on Saturday which usually defaults to the next business day. Now my next guess after seeing the deposit not in there when logging in this morning would be that it's in there on Monday.

Is this right?

I have been paid by the government for more years than I want to count. Between military, DOA, and the VA I can say with 100% certainty that I have NEVER been paid on a weekend. Generally I would get paid prior to the weekend or holiday or in few cases, just after. I would wait until Monday before freaking out.

You should have received the deposit on 12/31/15. With Social Security payments when your payment date is on a weekend or holiday during the week the payment is deposited the previous business banking day. Since SSI pays typically on the 1st and regular SS benes on the 3rd everyone should have received their funds on Thursday.
