I received an email a couple weeks ago letting me know that the Discover checking account is back, they have a debit card that earns 1% back and also early direct deposit.

@Mdowning30I have their checking account for about 3 years now. Using a checking account from a big bank or credit union that can charge all their fees for me is not an option at this point.
@AndySoCal Have you experienced their early direct deposit? I'm curious as too how early? I do understand that it varies by when "payor" submits the batch, but from your experience whats the earliest you've received notification/funds?

@sznthescore I get paid on Friday. I usually see the email notification on Wednesday afternoon around 1:30PM was the last one I received. Usually the funds are the account same day. This aslo will work if you have your tax refund direct deposited as well.
@AndySoCal Thanks for the info. Just opened an account. Testing things out... $25 min. ACH transfer... meh, but I'll live. I still have my $0.01 penny puller/push ACH account. Just was curious as I'm accustom to 12p wednesday deposits. I'll see how things go. 👍🏽

@sznthescoreThe times for me maybe just how and when my employer does things. The times are consistant. Your times may be different. In my mind Friday is payday the two day early does not alter my spending habit.
