I'm trying to do the promotion for Discover, by opening a checking account to receive a $50 bonus. My Discover IT is only 1 month from opening so they recently checked my credit.

Does anyone know if they will require another HP on my credit when I apply for the checking. I'm trying to avoid the HP

They run a check through ChexSystems. As far As i know They dont do a soft or a hard pull, They dont check your credit just ChexSystems. Most likely you need to get a current reportfrom ChexSystem evidently there is a baddie.

I have a couple baddies in my credit report so probably on that as well. I'm still mad though. They look like a good checking bank with their rewards on debit transactions and paying bills. I'll look into other banks

I will be completely honest with you outside of the 24/7 AMERICAN customer service its not worth it. I boasted about it for the first two weeks then had nothing but issues. My debit card that never worked to rqndom holds. After 40 days im cancelling it, its just not what i thought it would be and its completely over-rated.

Lol, still surprised how you got denied. Signed up for my dad and myself immediately getting my card.
