Whenever I have unfrozen my experian report, there has never been an issue. Unfreeze and apply. Well, not this time. It says unfrozen, I called in and spoke to a representative who agreed, unfrozen. No freeze no lock. I have been attempting several times to join into a credit union, who after several attempts cannot do a sp due to a freeze on Experian.
I went to chases site for giggles. Attempting to do a sp. Came back, frozen file.
Does anyone have a suggestion or a clue as to what the problem may be? Truly frustrating.

do you have it locked?
freeze and lock are seperate and in two different places on the experian website

freeze and lock are seperate and in two different places on the experian website
Unfrozen and no lock. The csr at experian confirmed neither are active. It shows on their side that the file is accessible.

with chase, whatever they use to do the pre-qualify SP on the Prime Visa card doesn't work unless the file has been unfrozen for an extended period of time, at least a day or so, otherwise it will just kick back 'can't access' or 'frozen file' even if the report is actually unfrozen
I wonder if this is the same thing happening with this credit union, is this a big CU or just a local CU where you might be able to ask them to pull TU/EQ?
only other thing I can think of is any third parties that allow locks, like how you can lock TU with the paid version of Wallethub or something

It is a good sized cu. Multiple states. This issue has gone on for 4 days now. It's not something I just started working on today. I'm so anxious to apply too. There will be a bandwagon of people wanting to apply. I want in before the fico effect, lol. When I do get this resolved, OH trust me, it will be in the approval thread with all the details. I just have to get past this.

After I apply. I'm taking one for the team and be the first guinea pig. They seem real nice. They have actually dedicated someone to me to work through this freeze issue. I will talk to them Monday for sure.
You say you are trying to join a cu. That should be a sp, which should be ok even if report is frozen. Could the freeze be with chex? Opening a deposit account (joining a cu) is often a Chex issue.
The cu needs both. SP for membership. Both chex and EX. I confirmed thru chex website there is no freeze. The cu said the problem was EX. The rep at EX says no lock or freeze active. I attempted again today for a pre-qualified from Chase. Came back with a message bureau locked/frozen. I have all 3 unfroze.
I will call them tomorrow and seek their guidance. To me, it really makes no sense at all. I have never had this issue.
