I filed on 2/18 and just saw that my return is already pending in my credit union account. I have never had a return deposited so quick- 5 days! Are others experiencing the same thing? I am ususally a first or second day filer but had to wait this year for some documentation. Maybe that's why?
My Federal was slow this year due to that new law PATH they are verifying filers with EIC tax credits.
Filed 1/29 and deposited 2/22
Matter of fact.. I received my State Tax last week. This is definitely the first time that I received my State first before Federal.
Mine was applied to my 2016 balance within just a few days of filing.
Thrilled I'll be saying goodbye to that old balance very soon ![]()

I have found that federal refunds usually go in fairly fast, though state is a mixed bag. Last year my state refund took so long to get they ended up paying me interest on it, too.
The delays with taxes isn't waiting for the refund to get deposited, it's waiting for the pile of 1099s and other documents to arrive so you can actually start preparing your tax filing. I'm still waiting for a few and it's almost March!
FiledSun Feb 4, in my account Fri 2/9.
Still waiting on State. I am guessing IL spent my refund on past due bills and I will never see it.

I just got my Federal refund deposited into my DCU checking account today. I efiled on Monday. When I check "where's my refund", it still says received. It never went to approved and sent. But I got it today.
Fastest I ever got it.

Yeah, I was very suprised, not only with a quick refund, but how quickly all of my forms came in the mail for filing. Usually, they all come at the last minute but all came before mid-January. Also, a year in the plus, usually I am 1099'd out the rear.

I had a similar experience as well. It said that my status was received and would be deposited by 2/27 (today) however, its been in my CU acct since 2/23. I was pleasantly surprised!
