I have decided to take a long break from credit carding and start personal financing more seriously.
This week, I opened a savings and checking with Alliant CU (started out with BOA only) and today I opened a Roth IRA with Fidelity and transfered 3k to begin funding.
I think that this is a good start but unfortunately I do not know the first thing about investments or Fidelity.
Are there any tips or Fidelity for dummies that can help me get started? Any advice/support is much appreciated..
thanks!
Is 3k right now in a money market account with fidelity. For somebody that isn't quite sure with what to do with their Ira I would suggest one of their freedom index funds. Another good option is ffnox, their four funds in one index fund. It's 85% stock 15%bonds so it's fairly aggressive.
Once you figure out what you wanna then you can switch out to a different fund.
