@Anonymous wrote:The only glitch with my application was emailing it. I called a few days later and they couldn't find me in their system. If you read the application it only says to fax or mail it. So I faxed it directly from my computer. I made sure to enlarge the ID cards to the full page and send the fax at the highest quality (I wanted to be sure it went through the first time based on other posts about having to re-submit documents). I believe I sent a drivers license, SS card, and voter registration card. Two days later I got an email that my memberhip was approved. Called and got my member number and within an hour I had online banking setup and approval for a Cash Rewards card.
In the end I had to wait a litltle more than a week and gained a1.5% cash back card with a limit that's at least 320% higher than the next highest that was on my credit reports. And it showed up my credit reports in 10 days. It was worth the wait.
Speaking of the cash back card (I know a little off topic but about NFCU either way) does it have the same underwriting criteria as nRewards?
I read they're all the same, except for the Flagship Rewards.
I drove into West Point branch last saturday but have not heard a peep ...
We tried e-mail, in-branch (faxed to main), and online applications. They couldn't read the NL membership e-mail in any of those submissions. When we finally got a 200% zoom hard copy of it and sent it in, they said they'd lost everything else and would we start over and re-submit everything via snail mail. We were about to do that but everything has been delayed due to family illness. So we're going on two months now and I guess don't even have a current application in.
People used the snail mail method before because Navy didn't give the option to join via an organization through the electronic membership form online. There's no reason to use snail mail anymore.

I joined at the West Point branch originally (5 years ago) and had no problems, normally they are on top of it. Ask for Jill, she's the branch manager. She can get you situated, she's great!

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, using snail mail from the beginning is also a way to bypass the problem of NFCU saying your documents aren't legible.

It appears they are telling ppl they are backed up due to a recent membership drive ending. FYI
Interesting.
So what's the process of using the online application for NLSD method? Select "USA Federal Merger" and put in NLSD?
