To be fair, when I was raised it was usually the last week of August, not this first week stuff a lot of areas are doing now. grandpa.gif

Happy August MyFicoers!

Tongue in cheek ... July was normal temperature and rainfall was above normal with a lush green everywhere Smiley Happy

Unlike last year when we were in a severe drought and lost most of our lawns and had water restrictions in place! To this day, few lawns have been restored as the loses were so massive many are now green from weeds Smiley Sad

I remember school starting after labor day but not ending until the first week of June.

The same for me as well.  I think most of these retail business are attempting to reach more customers over a greater period of time to aid in boosting the calender quarterly revenues.  Every little bit helps the bottom line - I would think 🤔

For me, it started right before or after labor day but did not end until the last few days, if not the last week, of June.
