Oh, and I fractured my upper-right humerus yesterday. Failed to correctly negotiate uneven trail terrain and fell poorly.
Happily, the orthopod advises that it's a non-surgical break. Just have to keep it immobile in a sling for a while. Say, 3 to 4 months.
FICO.

Ouch! Hope it heals quickly. Did you do this cross-country skiing?
I'm thinking of taking up biathlon as a new winter activity.
Yeah, cross-country. Don't let anyone tell you it's risk-free. 😎. A moment's lapse of attention and ... .
I've been XC skiing for 45 years. I've also alpine and water-skied, but XC is my jam.
Now with this injury, I have the trifecta -- tho' this is the worst. Sixty-year-old bodies just aren't as supple as their younger counterparts.

Yikes! So sorry to hear that! Hope you get better quicker than that.
Thanks, @macinjosh.

The gravity of my injury has just dawned upon mrs. e.
Focusing on our return home, she asked me, "What are we going to eat?"
My knife skills will surely be wanting over the next couple of months, and I fear we'll be relying on store-bought bread as well.

Thinking of work and typing with one hand ... I don't envy that.
I confess that I didn't want the Cardinals to win, but it's always nice to see the Cowpatties lose!

If they've provided the ergonomic keyboard that I requested last month, it'll be that much easier. I should be able to type with both hands.

My first thought was oww for you, my second thought was no bread pictures for 4-5 months, at the soonest. 🍞🥖
