Re: Garden Club - March 2022

Good morning boys and girls.  Happy Wednesday!

Happy Birthday to me!

No credit news.  Ever.

Yes, I'm still alive.  DW is thrilled.

She loved her little Buick, but she didn't trust it.  Yesterday was it's third trip to the dealership for an expensive repair... we had owned it for less than three years.  When it throws a code, it puts itself in "safety mode" and runs like it's missing a cylinder...it's scary and she was quite tired of that.

(and yes, @kilroy8 , we paid cash for the Encore in 2019...it was paid off, never had a loan on it.)

This is her second Ford Edge.  She had a 2013 Edge S that we gave to DD#3 upon her University graduation last year.   This is a 2017 Edge Titanium with all of the bells and whistles... including the coveted heated steering wheel!

We now own three Fords, and two of them have heated steering wheels!

...we're a bit spoiled!

Hope that you're all off to a good start!

Mailbox is now standing!  Yay!  (No mail today tho!)

In completely garden safe news, I upgraded DWs car today.  Smiley Happy

She sent me to get her 2017 Buick Encore repaired at the dealership.   Which I did.  Then I traded it in on a 2017 Ford Edge Titanium.  Smiley Happy

They made a perfectly fair offer for the Buick, and I wrote a check for the difference.  No credit applied for.

Ladies, don't send your husband to the car dealership in a car he doesn't like.  Smiley Tongue

Outstanding.

Happily, mrs. e drives a '97 Z3 in outstanding condition with 21K on it.

And she lets me drive it.  Sometimes.

Good to see you’re amongst the land of the living. Super glad your DW loves her new ride. I don’t know why they even manufacture a vehicle without a heated steering wheel. Should be a federal mandate. 😛 Morning all. My CFU will report a huge balance tonight at statement closing—83% (29K/35K) utilization. I’m really interested in what that will do to my FICO in the short term. I’ll pay it to $0 Thursday or Friday. Have a great day!

Good morning everybody

I got more sleep last night than I did Monday night, although that really isn't saying very much.  But, my normal caffeine intake should be enough today.

Nuthin' happening on the credit front.

Re: Garden Club - March 2022

not sure why but my TU FICO 8 went up 9 points at the end of the month. I like positive FICO points so no complaints here.

The new boss asked for a headshot and bio so sending that over later today. I am sure they will add me to the website.

A person of my size doesn't like to be carried lol.

But seriously, my score is gonna prob drop slightly when statements cut. Higher than normal utilization. The end of the short month, go figure

On another note: Anybody have any credit card holders/wallets recommendations?

Threads pop up from time to time in Smorg discussing card holders or wallets.   I've listed a few of them dating back to about the last year or so.

My card count is on the higher end of the spectrum so I use a small front-pocket travel wallet to hold my drivers license + LTC + current daily driver CC +  whatever little cash I carry with me and then a card organizer to hold sockdrawered, online-only, and out-of-current-rotation cards.

But, without knowing your needs and wants its tough to make a practical recommendation.
