Re: Good Riddance Alliant...

Sure...if you have a relationship with NFCU they treat you like family. They are the VERY BEST CU/BANK I have ever dealt with in my lifetime. I am so loyal to them that they get all my business besides my Jetblue card for miles.

I have even started to get turned off by Penfed. I will always keep them for options because they do have good customer service.

BECU is absolutely amazing and I think within time they will show me plenty of love too.

Re: Good Riddance Alliant...

Similiar situation happened yesterday with Alliant with my DD. They flat out denied her for the emergency loan. I was so upset since I told her to apply with Allient. I immediately moved my funds over to PNC, closing Alliant as soon as transfer is completed. Dont need them! Shameful credit union in my book!

Of course she applied with NAVY and was  approved  with no problem!  Go Navy!

A credit union that gives a hoot!

Re: Good Riddance Alliant...

tussking,

Sorry to hear you had problems with Alliant. I'm glad NFCU was able to help you.  This is the first negative story I've seen in a while about Alliant.

It's ok in the end. You probably got a better rate with Navy Federal anyway!

Honestly, I'm not a fan of their loan department either.

A couple of years ago, I withdrew $20k out of their accounts and have never looked back.

Besides their deposit accounts side.

I find nothing special about Alliant.

I'll ride that secure loan out till the last day.😂

IMHO, they act more like a bank than a credit union.

For example, I can call Penfed give them the information on a vehicle  for an auto loan.

And a check is in the mail that day. No hoop jumping or trying to prove I am me.😂

I'm sure I can do the same with USAA or NFCU. And it would be the same outcome as Penfed.

Alliant wants DNA test done for loans.😂

That's an interesting observation, even somewhat bears out from their product mix now that I think of it (interesting rewards card, dealer services arm see their Tesla partnership, etc.)

Alliant's been sending me things over time but I just haven't had a need for the products.

For the record though, they did send me an email 3/24, some lenders (Barclays) were later.  If I had time I might go through the list and just see when lenders reached out to me but probably won't hold my interest for now, still the squirrel trying to chase nuts in this time and ain't nobody coming to help me (nor should they).

Re: Good Riddance Alliant...

So, I sent Alliant a secure message telling them to close both my accounts and cancel my membership.

We value your membership since 2016 and would like to know why you are closing your accounts and membership?

FYI -I am a member of 4.5 years who has already paid off a loan.

YOU JERKED ME AROUND FOR 7 DAYS ON AN EMERGENCY LOAN AND EVERYDAY WAS ANOTHER STORY WITH MORE REQUESTS FOR MORE DOCUMENTATION. --- SEVEN DAYS ---

So why am I canceling my membership?

While you were playing games with me I applied at a REAL CREDIT UNION NFCU and was approved in 20 mins and the funds were in my account 10 mins later.

Good Riddance.
