I did something really stupid. My pay cycle is horrible, and I haven't been paid since the 12th. This morning, my fiance woke up with an infected tooth that could not wait two more days (He just started a new job and won't get paid until Friday). We're flat broke because we've been paycheck to paycheck because I've supporting us both the last six months. Anyway, I wrote a check this morning from my backup account so I could get him the cash to pay for the appointment, figuring even if the first presentation is tomorrow the second one would be wednesday, when I get paid, so it would be fine. Well, my bank presented it this afternoon (I didn't even know that could happen), so now the second presentation will be tomorrow and I'm going to bounce a check to myself. It's off a capital one 360 account so no overdraft and my credit score isn't high enough yet for the line of credit. I know that I can lose my account for this. What do I do? I'm so hysterical I'm having an anxiety attack. I know it was a stupid thing to do, but I was desperate.
Sorry to hear about the issue you are currently having. Check today can clear almost instantly so there is no longer a float that you tried to use.
I would call the banks and see if there is anything they can do to stop the process. Hopefully being proactive will help stop a closure of the account. I am assuming you do not have the funds to cover anything right now? Any friends or relatives that can help tide you over? It may be worth it to contact the dentist as well and let them you know you have every intention of paying.
If you are that broke, it is time to ask for help from the community. You need to see if there are any options available from food banks etc. Is there a church that you attend that might help?
I hope your BFs tooth is better and sending positive thoughts your way. I really do wish you good luck.
As a thought have you thought about GoFundMe.com. You may be able to find some help on the site.
My sister is venmoing me the money so I can cover the check. You give some wonderful advice though, so I will definitely look into everything you mentioned!

I hope your fiance's tooth feels better! I once had a root canal (three sessions) on a tooth that was infected and it HURT. So I totally sympathize and can understand that something like that cannot wait. It sounds like you got it worked out but another thing you could do is call in advance to the dentist and try to work out a payment plan (or time of payment if not that day). I think they would understand especially if it's your regular dentist.
Quicksilver $10,000 | Better Balance Rewards $2000 | Sallie Mae $3500 | Freedom $3500Sorry for your situation and for your anxiety. I agree with the others that in today's technological world, there is no such thing as being able to "count on" floating a check.
Everything is done electronically (and quickly) nowadays.
Perhaps your fiance can get assistance from family until he is paid from his new job, as it certainly does sound as if supporting you both is breaking your back. It might also be less stressful for you to find a different job in which you are paid more regularly. I know it is difficult and I wish you all the best.
I hope the light of a new day has helped and you have a least found some hope. Good luck, still sending positive thoughts your way.
