DD#3 filed in April on paper, and she's still waiting too.
Efile late April, IRS account shows an extension filed (not) but no return. Waiting on a refund, can't get any info on website or phone. My CPA has quit responding to my emails about it :-)
The problem may not be with the IRS but with your CPA...he may have filed an extension rather than an actual return....my CPA did this to us in the past when he could not meet his deadlines ....and I strongly admonished him never to do that ever again....did you receive proof of efiling from your CPA via a transmittal record from the IRS......You are at least entitled to that.....
Close friend of mine is in this process now... Trying to close on a house and mortgage UW wants 2020 transcripts. Filed electronically using TT (with the infamous PenFed discount no less!!) in June before the filing deadline (for Texas). Has not been processed yet. "No return filed." It's a bit of a catch 22 for him, as the instructions clearly indicate not to file again or amend, etc... Yet they are insistent that it is a requirement. My advice was to tell them had an approved extension (which is true - as the IRS extended the deadline to June 15 for Texas residents). Not sure yet if that will solve / has solved the problem.
