Re: Insight Visa Savings Discontinued...

If you got an email from Insight then I assume you currently have a card & savings account? I read on DoC that new cards won't be offered the savings account, but did they give you a date when current savings accounts will be closed?

Re: Insight Visa Savings Discontinued...

I didn't receive the email as I don't have an account. I was going to, I requested & received the card in May but before I got everything setup I heard about them canceling the savings account so I called them and canceled the card.

Doctor of Credit now has this posted on their front page.

- Savings account will close July 1

- Interest due 7/1 will post and then the entire balance will be transferred to the pre-paid card.

They give instructions on how to withdraw all or part of your balance at no charge by issuing yourself a check through the bill pay service. You can do that anytime, but if you withdraw before 7/1 you don't get the interest.

Re: Insight Visa Savings Discontinued...

Important – Please read carefully

Dear Valued Customer,

Effective July 1, 2018, the Insight Savings account offered to online Insight Card customers will be discontinued.

This letter is to notify you that the Insight Savings account associated with your Insight Visa Prepaid Card you acquired online will close on July 1, 2018. Interest due as of July 1, 2018 will be credited, and the balance will be automatically transferred to your Insight Visa Prepaid Card account and subject to the prepaid card’s terms and conditions.

If you wish to withdraw any portion of your account balance at no charge, you may do so by issuing a bill payment check to yourself after July 1, 2018. If you wish to close your account prior to July 1, 2018 you will forfeit any interest accrued but not yet paid.

Instructions to complete a bill payment check to yourself:

  1. Login to your account online at www.Insightvisa.com
  2. Under the “Spend Money” tab, select “Bill Pay”
  3. On the Bill Pay menu, Select the “Add Biller” tab
  4. Click the link that says “Click here to add your biller manually”
  5. Complete the Biller form with your name, account number, home address where you would like your check mailed and phone number
  6. Select “No” to “Make this a scheduled Payment”
  7. Click “Add Biller”
  8. You will receive a confirmation that “Your biller has been added”
  9. Next, click the “Single Payment” tab on the Bill Pay menu.
  10. In the “Pay to:” drop down, select your name (the biller you just added)
  11. Select the Payment Date that you wish for the check to be sent
  12. Complete the amount that you wish to be sent.
  13. Hit Continue and verify the amount and payment date
  14. Select “Pay Bill” to process the check payment. A check will then be mailed to you and should be received within 7-10 days.

We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause. We encourage you to continue taking advantage of the many other features and benefits your Insight Visa Prepaid Card has to offer.

If you have questions regarding this notice, or any other matter related to your account, please call the number printed on the back of your card.

Re: Insight Visa Savings Discontinued...

Just want to add... Accounts opened online are being closed. Accounts opened by phone are still open with savings account intact! So 1 of my 3 accounts still has the 5% savings 😎

Re: Insight Visa Savings Discontinued...

I don't think any new accounts will come with the savings account option lol. I just moved $10 back into 1 of the 2 "closed" card accounts to see if it will re-trigger the savings account like it did initially before closing them haha, doubt it will work though.
