Members 1st or PSECU?

Eventhough i just recently joined DCU....... If i wanted to join another credit union a local one here in PA this time which one of these 2 should i join...... Members 1st or PSECU?

My dad's work has a relationship with Members 1st so it would be free for me to join, they have a branch like 10 minutes or less away from me, their credit cards have rewards, However their call center seems to have short hours meaniing their closed most days by the time i get home from work, so if i need to call them it would have to be early in the morning before i start work.

PSECU, I would have to join with a fee to some PA recreation orginization in which PSECU would match or whatever, it looks like their checking accounts get interest and also looks like they give free checks, their credit cards don't have rewards, they have locations like 45 minutes away, but have arrangeents with other credit unions like members 1st to make deposits at their atms, their call center hours seem to be longer like DCU is, so it would be easy to call them when i get home from work.

Does anyone here have either one or both and have any advice for me?

Re: Members 1st or PSECU?

I would go with PSECU.   I have PSECU as my primary checking account.   Customer service is great and rates are really good.  My neighbor has Members 1st and seems to have a relatively large issue about one  a year with them---I have never has a problem with PSECU in  about 15 years.

Re: Members 1st or PSECU?

I switched from Susquehanna Bank to Members 1st two years ago after feeling like after 35 years Susquehanna just didn't care about their customers. Didn't have any real bad experiences with Members 1st, but what I really liked about PSECU was the great rates for car loans. Since my daughter is a college graduate and she and her DH have PSECU, I was able to get membership and was approved. My Visa PSECU card is 9.9% and $9k CL. When I purchased my 2007 Tundra the end of 2014 I got a loan for 2.9% APR with PSECU. Since they don't have brick and mortar banks, I just take a pic of the front/back of a check and no problem depositing them. There's no ATM fees with any credit union in the U.S. but more convenient for me is Sheetz which is surcharge free also.

I think you're going to like the bank.
