We just joined NFCU through our son-in-law who is in the Air Force. We applied for a CLOC for $15,000 and they came back with $5000 and we said ok just to start building credit. But they wanted paystubs so we sent them. My husband works for Disney in Orlando. He is a mechanic on Space Mountain and makes a Union hourly salary which comes out to over $60,000 a year! Today they denied the loan because they don't like how my husband's paychecks look.
He gets everything directly deposited and we only get an electronic paystub which I emailed to them and they think it doesn't look professional enough. Its got Disney's address and payroll phone number on there but I'm guessing because it doesn't have Mickey and Minnie on the paystub, they are not believing its the true stub? I am livid!!
We just refinanced our house and that is what we sent the mortgage company and no one questioned it!! I'm so disgusted already with NFCU!! It sounds like if we want to stay with them and want to get credit cards and loans, we have to go back to paper paystubs?? I don't know, I never heard of such a thing. I got the paystub directly from my husbands company website but they still won't accept it!!
Thanks, but we did try to speak to a manager and they would absolutely not put them on!! We even called back in hopes of getting someone else!! I mean if the only reason holding up the loan was the look of the paycheck, why could we not give our W2s, but they said no! It just was so cut and dry and they don't seem like they want to work with you!! My husband went into Disney payroll which is one of Orlando's biggest employers, employing like 75,000 right here in Orlando! They laughed when they heard what my husband had to say. They said they have NEVER heard of that excuse, and that everyone takes the Disney paystub. Disney payroll said, there is a phone number right on the paystub that they could have called and verified employment!! Anyway, I guess we will keep the account open for awhile and see what happens! Thanks!

+1... I would do this as well. (Assuming you're close to a branch, of course.)
I have a feeling you would be able to work though the problem in-person.
Yes!! I thought the same, we do live close to a branch so we might go over there!! Thanks for all the advice and encouragement!! I appreciate it!!

Good morning!
Have you been able to resolve the issue yet?
We havent gotten over there yet! Its a little further than I thought and we are in the midst of taking our children back to college out of state. But I did get the decline letter and the reason for the decline was because we were not able to prove our income which is not true! They looked at the paystub which is all electronic and one person decided it wasn't authethic even though there were phone numbers on the paystub to verify employment which they didn't do and based their decision on that. Disney is such a big company and you are just a number there so its hard to get a paystub printed out that has the Mickey logo. But up in the corner is the name of the company and address and phone numbers. So I told my SO to just set up direct deposit of some of our money to go into the Navy Federal account so they can see that the deposits are from Disney. I mean I even gave them 2 months statements from the Disney Credit Union - Partners and they couldnt decide if that was enough. We have car loans and credit cards through Partners and we pay our car loans weekly so they take it out of the weekly pay so the amt deposited in the account is different than what the paystub says. But they could have asked us and I feel like they just made a decision based on glancing at the paystub. Anyway, I'm just hoping that this is not how they do business all the time!! I don't like that for some they say yes and others they say no and there is no good reason!
