I've searched the forums and the DOC List of Methods Banks Count As Direct Deposits and haven't found a definitive answer.
I am self employed and do not use a payroll service. If I set up recurring ACH payments from my business checking account to my NFCU Everday Checking account, would that count as direct deposit? If not, is there another way? My business checking is with SSFCU.

on desktop, click into your checking, click more details and you can see in the "other" section if your checking is credited as having direct deposit, if it has, or it will, consider switching to the easy checking as opposed to the free everyday checking
navy recently updated their direct depoist guidelines, so regardless if your biz checking codes to navy as a DD from a payroll source, you should still be able to get yourself credited as having DD if you meet one of the below requirements:
You may qualify for direct deposit if you have:
(1) a recurring ACH from employer, military pay, or certain government agency pay or benefits in your name that is deposited into a Navy Federal deposit account where you are Primary or Secondary Owner,
(2) (OR) Mobile deposits, ATM deposits, or Branch deposits totaling at least $500 and recurring for at least three out of four consecutive months that are deposited into Navy Federal deposit accounts where you are Primary Owner,
(3) (OR) monthly Non-payroll ACH totaling at least $500 and recurring for at least three out of four consecutive months that are deposited into Navy Federal deposit accounts where you are Primary Owner,
(4) (OR) monthly Non-payroll ACH totaling at least $500 and recurring for at least three out of four consecutive months that are deposited into Navy Federal deposit accounts where you are Secondary Owner.
Many direct deposits are done via ACH. I think for non employer ACH transfers, you have to have recurring deposits for $500 (per month) for three out of four consecutive months. I believe you can also still qualify for direct deposit by making mobile deposits, ATM deposits, or branch deposits totaling at least the same $500 (per month) and recurring for at least three out of four consecutive months. You might want to call NFCU to verify.
ETA: Sorry @GZG I was typing as you were posting, otherwise I would have not posted basically the same info you provided
Thank you both! This has been super helpful!
