NFCU Personal Loan or Alliant?

I received an email from nfcu to apply for a personal loan, does anyone now if that’s sent out to everyone or targeted? I’m looking to add an installment loan and don’t mind and HP should I go with nfcu or get my foot in the door with Alliant? Also, I know for a score change the dollar amount doesn’t matter for the loan but when a UW reviews your profile does seeing a large installment look better than a small one?

Go with the Share Secured Loan Technique and use NFCU as your CU to implement it.

Do you think the amount is taken into consideration if a manual review is done?

Re: NFCU Personal Loan or Alliant?

It depends on why a manual review is being done, and what that lender's policies are and possibly even who that reviewer is.

In the case of NFCU and the SSL Technique it's somewhat of a moot point, since the SSLT recommends to aim for as long of a term loan as possible -- and to get a 60 month term loan at NFCU you need to take out a loan for > $3000.

Note that some people have been successful getting that condition met by requesting a loan for $3001, but some loan officers at Navy viewed that as essentially a loan for $3000 and end up giving the person a loan for 36 or 48 months.  To be sure to get a 60 month loan I'd apply for $3500.
