There is no fee for the transfer on the CC I have, already looked into that. I also PIF so there is no interest either.

I cannot push from my "payee" account, because they want to pull my CR to "set up" that "service". I'm not gonna waste a HP on that!

That's why i've never signed up for it before. Plus I've not really needed it, as I've not run into this issue before.

It's a local CU, so maybe that's why. IDK

My only other checking account is with BoA, but I don't let much cash sit in there. I only use it to pay the minimums on my CC that have auto billing from Netflix, Cable etc.

That's good at least you're not paying anything to do it..

Wow- don't blame you on the HP- I've never heard of that before..Smiley Sad

Glad you have a workable solution at least.

Re: NFCU transfer problems

I just write myself a check and mobile deposit it into my NFCU account.  My local CU wants to charge a fee for any external transfer.

Re: NFCU transfer problems

NFCU is odd, I am discovering. Not only do they have the limitations you describe, but I also just discovered that I can't transfer funds from my NFCU share savings account to an external account. Ugh! I have money in an NFCU CD that, when it matures, will end up in my share account. I will basically have to open up an NFCU checking account that I do not want to move the money back to my main (external) savings account. If I had realized this ahead of time, I would not have gone with the NFCU CD. I feel like NFCU is holding my money hostage unless I open a checking account. Smiley Frustrated

You could call and have them send you a bank draft/check.

That's actually my only 'gripe' as well (and I concede it's a small one).

Luckily for me there's a CU just around the corner that has no-fee withdrawals for NFCU, so when I need to make a withdrawal from my NFCU savings I just use my NFCU ATM card and withdraw the cash.  Not quite as easy as a transfer, but it works.

Every month I ACH 'push' a small amount from my USAA checking to my NFCU savings... when it reaches $200 or so I withdraw it and start over. (It's one of my "stashes".)  Smiley Happy

Edit:  typo

I know there's no CA fee, but since the transfer is considered a cash advance doesn't the interest start accruing immediately?

If it doesn't that's a nice perk, indeed.

Re: NFCU transfer problems

Yeah, could be. I pay it ASAP, so it could be like $.20 at most? IDK How much do they charge per minute? lol

Thanks for that info, I opened that 32 month IRA because of the $100 bonus they give. Now I'm hesitant to put too much Money in there if I can't get it back w/o opening yet another checking.  Not that I really need it or plan to use it,  just the idea of easy access to it is nice.

Definitely having reservations about signing up with them, being so far away from physical branches. But they're a pretty good CU.

Just one of those things as learning experience.
