Nasa federal credit union support is horrible

I've applied for an application to nasa that was a week ago.

They never even replied to it. I called them they said they'd add some notes and someone will get back to me. As I am writing this, still nothing. Absolutely horrible.

Anyone tried to apply to them yet?

There have been a few credit unions with which I am a member that were slow to process my membership. It's definitely a CU thing as I never experienced that with banks,

Yeah, my application is still pending and no movement at all.

I'm pretty annoyed.

I'm away aboard I return tomorrow. I'm gonna call them and complain

Are you applying to join NASA for a specific reason?  If not, there really are much better CU choices out there.  I was a member with NASA for awhile and I have since closed it.  Definitely wasn't worth the hassle and they don't offer anything really worthwhile as far as products, especially when compared to other CU's out there.  Just my 2 cents on them.

Yeah I joined dover they seem to be pretty good to me.

I wanted to get nasa as well since I have some shaky credit for now and I seem to be qualified for everything but so their application process is nonexistent.

There aren't many CU that does pre-qualification. Don't want to waste inquiry

Re: Nasa federal credit union support is horrible

Depending on what your issues with your credit are, NASA is a very conservative CU especially when it comes to lending. I app'ed for a couple of their cards at different times and was denied each time.

I would suggest either PenFed or (if you qualify to join) NFCU. They are far better (IMHO) than NASA. They both offer prequalify pages, but of course as with most things, you can't always trust the prequal results.

I wish  I could join navy sadly I can't.

Don't know anyone or family members that's in military

I'm in penfed but they don't seem to like me much. I'm not qualify for any of their cards or loans so I can't even start a relationship with them.

They aren't so welcome anymore now they gotten so big

Agree about Penfed.  They haven't been super welcoming to me either.  Understandably so with lots of new accounts and inquiries, but regardless I closed my checking and savings accounts with them last week.

Have you looked into BECU?  They've been very helpful and their customer service is top notch.

NASA has had 2 good features:

1) On certificates, their 9 month specials have had a high rate compared to many others.   This isn't the case currently though

2) Each year they seem to have a spend $1000 get $100 offer on their credit cards, the $100 is in addition to the usual credit card rewards (1.5% in my case, so a total of 11.5%)

Not enough reason to join though, especially with 1 not being true currently!
