I have lurked the forum for a bit but finally decided to join.
I am currently a member of Duke University Federal Credit Union since I am an alum, Alliant CU as an extra place to keep money, and a local credit union to me for other odds and ends.
I have read all the good things about NFCU and since my grandfather was in the Navy and sent me his DD214, I was able to join.
Looking forward to scouring their products and seeing how I can best utilize them in my finances.
Awesome news! Congrats! I'm priming them up with a checking, savings, and CD before apping for one of their cards.
Have fun scouring through their products to find out what works best for you!
Congratulations! I recently joined as well!
Congratulations! I just joined as well.
Went ahead and opened a Special EasyStart 12 month CD today and setup auto transfer for bi-weekly when my direct deposit comes in.
Despite having a 750 credit score, 6 figure income, I got denied a credit card. Figure the best way is to further develop the relationship and try again in a few months. DTI is fine so my assumption is recent inquiries.

One of the first things I did after I set up direct deposit to NFCU (about 2.5 months after joining) was to open the EasyStart CD; I'm almost five months in and the CD has already earned over $54; not huge, but better than a sharp stick in the eye.
A little over two months after I opened the CD NFCU started bugging me about applying for their MoreRewards credit card; they approved me with a whopping $30,000 starting limit. I told you to tell you this, wait until the CD is maxed out at $3,000 and then apply again; you might be plesently surprised.
Chapter 13:
I categorically refuse to do AZEO!
