Out with USBank in with PenFed

Decided to replace my bank with US Bank and found a new bank, probably one no one has ever heard of on this forum.

I joined PenFed today.

I am going to start using it as my main account starting in January. In the mean time I will be putting $50 into the account every month just to show activity.

Anything I should do to increase my chances for a Credit Card with them around April?

you need DD $500+ OR daily balance of $500 to avoid $10 monthly fee from their checking

I will only have 2 months of not having DD with them. I am fine with the $20 in fees that is associated with it.

kr43002,

Congratulations on joining PenFed.  I would get DD as soon as possible. I would use that debit card as much as possible and save whatever you can. PenFed is like Navy Federal, they like to see their accounts being used. I would apply for the Power rewards card when you feel comfortable.

Re: Out with USBank in with PenFed

Thats good to know, If i make them my main bank they will be more happy to lend to me. Im going to try and move my 1099 income to that when the season starts again, which will be around the start of the year.
