PENFED sending letters with incorrect last names

I'm not sure what is happening with PenFed, but they really do need to start paying attention to how they conduct business.

Yesterday I received a letter with the completely incorrect last night regarding changes to the agreement for my overdraft line of credit.  On the letter, my first name was correct, the address was correct, and the account number was correct. The only thing wrong was my last name.

I called the credit union this morning, the customer service representative verified that PenFed sent these letters out to several thousand members, and the credit union would send out correct letters next week. It sounds to me that PenFed needs to start paying closer attention to how it dos business.

I also asked if PenFed was going to bring back the balance transfer option to existing cards. The rep said no. The only way to do a balance transfer is when opening a new credit card with them.

Re: PENFED sending letters with incorrect last names

They actually put entire account numbers in those postal mailings? Nowadays that's just begging for security breach & ID theft victims!

At least it's better to have incorrect last names sent to correct addresses vs correct last names sent to incorrect addresses.

Re: PENFED sending letters with incorrect last names

I'm going to have to check, but I think Langley included my account number in their last mailing.

I still have not received any correspondence about this error. I also emailed them Thursday about this, and no response yet.

Re: PENFED sending letters with incorrect last names

@Guyatthebeach I to received a letter from Penfed with an incorrect last name. Good grief, the Rep said it was sent out by mistake.
