a lot if CU (not all) seem to postcearlier than banks.

I have many mixed feelings about what I should do it (donate to a worthy charity, pay it towards my DW's SL's, or stimulate the economy by using towards stuff for the house). There are a lot of American's out there who can use the money more than me.
Charity is probably the highest impact. A local food bank or low-income health clinic would get my vote.
Tempting to sock this away into savings...
edit: just looked and mine is pending for 1/4 (small local CU).
I have NFCU and I don't see any pending deposit. I am a bit worried.

Anybody else seeing this ?
I received my $600 yesterday, at small local credit union, United Texas.
@Remedios wrote:While I'm not getting the check, where on earth does Chase shows pending deposits?
I've never seen one
I'm screwed either way. I gave my education Tax Info to my mom for her to claim on her taxes and ending up putting me down as a dependent. :/ Doesn't seem like I'll get this one either. ![]()

My moms credit union also shows the 4th as being available. Right now just shows pending .
As for my bank it shows nada 😔
The Get My Payment is offline just like last time.
I'll probably just keep mine for an emergency, this crappy ride aint over simply because 2020 is over.
@sxa001 I want to thank you for the charity suggestion. Great idea for using these funds. I've decided to give my $600 to GiveWell.org's Maximum Impact fund. It's not domestic, but it will support organizations that fight malaria and other parasites, incentivize childhood vaccinations, prevent vitamin A deficiency and more. All low-cost means of saving lives in the poorest areas on the globe.
I'm emblematic of the "don't need this money" camp. I was an unpaid trainee for most of 2019, so my income is low on that metric. I happened to be training for a career that became crucial to the pandemic response. Now I'm in a well-paid job, picked up a second one, been doing mass overtime as the pandemic rages. It feels right to give this money away. There's little I can do with these funds to boost the domestic safety net (the main criticism of this broad direct payment approach) so I feel okay using them in a vastly more impactful manner, even though it's outside the US.
Ours shows pending at our small local bank. ![]()
It will probably sit in the bank until our refinance is completed, then I imagine we'll throw it at the local economy via old pick up truck repair.
We shall see.
