Must say, Penfed rocks and has become my go to credit union. Member with both Penfed and NFCU and not have been very good to me. Recently, better auto rate with Penfed and easily reconned a credit card approval to an amazing 10k SL. Then 30 days later, using same HP requested PLOC to consolidate higher interest rates loans and small credit cards, denied initially for 25K request. Emailed and then returned call to LO and hoped to get 14K, explained loans I wanted to consolidate, current interest rates etc, immediate approval for full 25K. I am very impressed on the CSR and LO along with their professionalism and customer service. Member for life
I'm waiting for their online banking system upgrade before going back to them.
People have probably seen me say it before... It was nearly impossible for me to balance a checkbook when posted and pending transactions took days to show up on the interface. Even then, I may just stick with them for credit cards and loans, rather than for a checking account. I tend to prefer full service banking for checking.

I agree, it’s a PITA not seeing pending transactions. I did speak to a supervisor and they are working on upgrading their internal system to allow that. I also had a rep add on Money Dashboard to my login view and look forward to using it to help me track my transactions.
My experience with their customer service has been wonderful and the closest branch is a simple 3 1/2 hour drive across the state. No I haven’t made it, but the phone calls I have made to them has made it up and worth the risk not having a branch in town. My DH is wondering why the heck I decided to move our banking to them. But from the posts I have seen here, I see it as investing into our future credit needs.
