I am a member of USAA for 2 years, but I am not military. My boy friend at the time told me that he can get me in to USAA and I was like whatever about it, and he told me later that I'm in, but I realized he basecally signed me up as a soldiar in active duty... I thought they would ask me to verify my military service by some point and shut down my account when they see I'm not military but that never happened and it's 2 years later! I never actually used any of their products yet. Should I call and tell them? will they shut down my account?
STOLEN VALOR!!!
I'm kidding. I wouldn't do anything if it were me. I'm a veteran and I'm in USAA as well. I've had a secured amex with them for 8 years that never graduated and can't graduate, so I don't use them for anything financial. I have my auto insurance thru them however.
Hey @iowe Thank you for your reply! the thing bothering me is the title before my name on letters from them. I'm reffered to with this title which indicates I'm military and it's super wierd... I don't want any of my roommates I live with to see this and the only way to change this is by calling them. Any advice?
Try logging in to the website. In the upper right corner there's a button for your profile. You can set your account up to be paperless so that they won't mail you anything.
Log in, click your profile button on the upper right with your initials in it, click account messaging, select online for everything and at the bottom say Yes that you want everything delivered online.

Thank you! I would like to get a credit card an maybe even insurance with them, and I believe that will result in paper mail. I just want to be able to not have a military title...
I'm not sure if you can change the title on your name, or your military status with USAA without calling them to speak to someone. Maybe some of the others will chime in for that question.

Any immediate family members with military service? Even deceased grandparents?

I don't think so
I believe you can change your correspondence title in your profile settings.
But you really need to call them and explain the situation. It doesn't sound like you have any eligibility for membership.
