The last few months have been financially challenging for our family. Starting the new year we are better footing and things are looking better going forward. At the very end of the year, we overdrew our checking account after a creditor extracted two large payments instead of the single one we had set up. This led to three separate ACH debits to Target being returned. I called Target when I realized what happened but they said they would just resubmit them.
Target has resubmitted them and they have since been paid. Today I received a letter saying my account has been closed because of the returns. Does anyone have experience with this? Will Target report this to a credit bureau or somewhere else that would impact our ability to get/use credit or open a bank account? Thanks in advance for your help.
I would call them and explain what happened. If you can get a letter/email from the creditor explaining it wasnt on your end, even better.
Good luck!
