US Bank, M&T, PNC or Truist

Hi! I'm considering opening up a bank account with US Bank. I've read that they offer lower starting limits than Elan. This is my main hesitation with opening an account there. However, I've also seen data points that they are generous when you build a relationship with them.

I'm opening the account with the plan to open a credit card in the future and a business bank account later this year as well.

For those of you that have US Bank credit cards for $25,000+, what has your experience been with the bank? How long were you a member before apping? Did they request a lot of documents for the credit card app? Was the credit card app process smooth?

I'm asking the same questions for M&T, PNC & Truist. I will be opening new personal checking/savings accounts as the first step to establish a relationship for personal credit cards and business accounts and credit cards down the line.

Any feedback about your experiences with these would be appreciated.

Re: US Bank, M&T, PNC or Truist

I can speak to PNC. PNC is very relationship driven. It took me forever to be open a CC w/ them after opening an account and they have been my main bank for almost a decade now. I was also not in the financial position I was in then and my CC score was much lower back then; I was not in the game like I was now. I started w/ their Core card w/ a $1,500 limit ~55 months ago, and it's grown to $22k. Right as the C19 pandemic hit, I was able to get their Cash Rewards card for a $25k limit instant approval. I just recently got an increase to $30k after I paid off all of my CC debt (~$9k). I have an auto loan with them for almost 3 years. Been very happy with them overall.

@rgate88 Thank you for your feedback. Did they offer you SP or HL CLI? Were they requested or given automatically?

@credit8502020 Always a SP and I requested them myself. Once or twice I got small increases on the Core from them but I got bigger ones sending in the request myself. And it's easy to do from the website.
