I am not sure when I will, I am trying to see how things play out with PenFed (and I havent received my card in the mail yet). Once I get my new account settled with PenFed I will decide if I will apply now or maybe 6 months from now, etc. Thank you again for CoC suggestion, I will be sure to research this and have all of my ducks in a row before I contact them. I had no idea this may be a possibility, anything to strengthen my position!
There used a bicycle club you could join for $10 or 15 bucks, that's what some MyFicoers did before they clamped down. I'm in their geo footprint and have been with them since 2015. I have their other CC with lousy rewards, I think 1 pt. for $2 spend and it's points you redeem for overpriced merchandise I don't want. So I don't use it for purchases, I use it for low APR no fee BTs or cash advances. Last spring they offered me a 15 mo. no fee BT for 2.99% and I took them up on it.
I use US Bank Cash+ for a 5% card. They don't offer a wholesale clubs category for 5% which is fine for me as I don't do Costco, over an hour away and I'm single and don't like buying in bulk. But Cash+ works great for 5% on my home utilities & cellular. US Banks gives preference to banking customers for their CCs, I had a US Bank checking this spring for a bonus and got approved for Cash+ while I had the checking account.
I also switch it up to 5% Dining if there is a dining gap with my rotators. Understandably useless for you if you hardly or never dine out.

You mean the US Bank Cash+? No, I don't dine out that much and you only get two 5% categories and my electric & cellular bills are much more than my dining spend, my cellular covers phone + home internet. And I use Cap One Savor One for 3% dining.

Sorry, I meant Vantage West.
The one thing I love about it (versus Cash+) is that Dining includes both restaurant and Fast food.
