Does anyone have insight on whether it's possible to join Visions Federal Credit Union if you're outside their service area? Are there any associations or workarounds to become a member?
Any input or feedback is appreciated!
@DatBoiQuick The Visions FCU that is in NY and PA you would have to call. I tried to because I am out of there area. There is Visions Financial Credit Union in NC that can be joined via membership in the American Counsumer Council or the regional affialiate North Carolina Consumer Council. If you are interested there is a list of credit unions that can be joined via the American Consumer Council that it does not matter where you live. See my post here in the personal finance board. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the information! I couldn’t find the Visions Financial Credit Union in NC that you mentioned. When I called the CU initially, they said they don’t accept the American Consumer Council. Could you provide more details about the specific location you’re referring to?
Here is the URL for the other Visions Financial Credit Union. https://www.vffcu.org/
The Vision FCU that is NY you have to call to see if they will take you as a member. The one in my link is North Carolina.
Oh i see where the confusion is, Im referring to visions fcu not vision. https://www.visionsfcu.org/
I called Visions FCU and they said the only way would be if someone refered me for a memebership.
@DatBoiQuick The link below is to the credit unions that can be joined through the American Consumer Council some have no geo restrictions others do. They are separated.

Nothing special, I just like their Elite Visa Signature since it comes with a lot of perks, protections, benefits, and 2%.

There are no workarounds for Visions FCU membership. They audit their membership eligibility proof regularly. and they will absolutely verify any claimed eligibility.
