Your mileage may vary, but they were able to qualify/verify me through whatever online database they use. I never had to provide any documenation. Worth a shot.

Eligibility is no longer in question after calling. If I were looking for a credit card or an unsecured loan, I wouldn't be as concerned about this documentation issue. I shouldn't have a problem getting it, just not knowing when is the bigger problem. In the mean time, i'm simply not prepared to have an acoount with a bunch of my own money frozen since it's an unnecessary gamble should I be an unlucky audit recipient.

Thank you for the response though.

Re: Wanting to join NFCU but don't think I can

I thought I might update this thread.

I just received an out of the blue email from one of my aunts that contained a DD214 attachment so we are good to go with NFCU now. Thankfully, since my mother didn't have it, the responsible sibling was in possession of it. I appreciate everyone taking the time to respond.

Take care and stay safe out there!

Re: Wanting to join NFCU but don't think I can

So I decided to go ahead and take care of the NFCU membership and opened checking and savings accounts today.

Everything went very smoothly over the phone and I've been told the funds should transfer tomorrow so everything is looking good on that front. The only oddity was the CSR told me that there was a maximum transfer of $250 from a debit or $100 max from my checking. This is not really an issue since the local branch is under 2 miles away and I can make a large deposit in person.

I do have a question though. I haven't been able to log in to my account on my Mac. When I logged in the first time, it asked me to change the password, which I did. It doesn't appear to be an account problem since I can access it through the app on my iPad using the newly changed password. When I log in on my Mac, the picture below is as far as it gets until it eventually times out and tells me the site is down (or something to that effect). Any ideas, and is anyone else having issues logging in tonight on a Mac?

Congratulations on your membership! No clue on your question, not a Mac user. Perhaps call NFCU CSR?

Thank you AllZero.

I will see if I can log in tomorrow before calling about the lack of access on my Mac. Maybe there is a glitch or something tonight.

Worst case, I will just use my iPad for access if they say Safari has issues with online banking.

Perhaps try a different browser? I have this issue with DCU on Firefox for Mac. I login and it seems to want to load, but the page never actually loads.
