@DakotaM wrote:I like using Affinity FCU as a hub because pulls from other institutions to Affinity only take a day at most seemingly no matter who the partner institution is. They will actually be same day pulls if I remember to get it it in before their 4:30pm or so cutoff.
I pay less attention to pushes from Affinity to elsewhere, but they also seem quick and I really don't recall waiting more than a day for funds to show up at the transfer partner.
@DakotaM Affinity has a lot of votes on this forum from what I have seen. I had an auto loan through them back in 2016 and they were the lowest APR we could find using RateGenius at the time. I do like their customer service. Thanks for the data on ACH pulls.
@butterpecan, I used to use US Bank for my hub, but had a few issues with them,
so I have switched to Charles Schwab High Yield Checking as my main hub.
I have been with them over a quarter of a century.
I agree on Affinity FCU being great, they are very smooth + excellent website, APP & Customer Service.
they also have;
The smarter way to save. Jumpstart your savings by earning up to 4.00% APY1 when you open a SmartStart Savings Account.
And;
Earn 1% cash back on everyday debit card purchases with no minimum balance requirements.
( i just do not use debit cards)
Thank you for this breakdown, the debit card is eye catching it's too bad using one doesn't feel safe these days. The savings account is a great idea for my teenager thanks for reminding me about that. I have one sitting dormant there since my auto refi back in the day.
I am very surprised how slow BofA pushes my ACH out to BCU and DCU. Also, Billpay is hit or miss for me as well even for big companies i.e. Verizon, for example takes longer to push a payment out from BofA than it takes to pull an ACH directly from my Verizon account. It makes no sense to me 1 day pulling from Verizon vs 3 days pushing from BofA.
I have seen quite a bit of chat about Fidelity Bloom but I basically know zero info about them so I plan on researching them as well but am steering towards Affinity more by the day. Thank you!
Butterpecan,
I use SCSCU to move money into my main accounts. Usually take a day. The draw back is they only allow five accounts. I use Truist or Redstone for ACH pulls to the other accounts. The only account I don't use ACH pulls on is Navy Federal.
I'm still to new to BCU to make a judgment on ACH's with them.
Guyatthebeach
@AndySoCal Thanks I will look at them as well. I just saw a commercial on TV for them LOL.
@Guyatthebeach I joined them on Friday, very nice set up thank you for the info. And I'm new with BCU also so I'm not sure just yet on how fast they are but I see BofA is slow to push to them. I don't use NFCU for any ACH transfers either except to pay my credit card. That was a 1 day pull from BofA to NFCU. So, again slow to push faster to pull with BofA in my experience which is too bad, we've been together so long.
@creditfan I am brand new to BCU and haven't enough data except that to push to them from BofA was slow. I plan on trying to push from BCU to see if it is faster. Thanks for the info.
@Bill77 Do you know how many external institutions you are allowed to store/set up for pushing out ACH's?

I do not know and couldn't find any information on their website or in the app. I have 3 externals and it doesn't have a problem allowing me to add a 4th (didn't actually add it).

@Bill77 Perfect, 4 is enough for me. Good to know thank you.
