*Shrug* Used it today with my hair stylist I go to weekly. I usually use credit, but my IHG was frauded for the second time in two months yesterday and eBates a few weeks ago. I'm a little annoyed with credit right now lol.
A debit card is all I used for 10 years. The only Visa card I have is secured so I am using my own money anyway. Whenever I can get a regular CC with rewards I will start using that.
I do have an Amazon Prime card that I use for online purchases.
Been a couple years since I used my debit card... it looks brand new!!
I work with several young people though and that is All they use. I can't convince them of the benefits of credit in general or the value of rewards. And the danger of swiping your debit card all over town.
I used my debit card for years. Until I discovered it was not earning me anything regarding elevating my credit score. As soon as I could, I obtained a credit card and have not used the debit card since then. The other night I had to pick up a prescription and found that I had accidentally left my little credit card wallet at home. Grabbed my debit card and could not even remember the PIN. Ended up writing a check. I can tell you that it takes much longer to get a check approved than a credit card approval. Lesson learned - always check that credit cards are with you.

Right, this is when meeting min swipes makes a lot of sense
A few years ago when I only had one credit card, I used debit for almost everything. I would use my PayPal 'debit' card in lieu of my bank's debit card, though, since it pays 1% rewards on all transactions that don't use a PIN. I actually did OK back then, earning a few dollars every month for simply doing what I would be doing anyway.
This would be more difficult today. While my PayPal debit card doesn't have a chip yet, one of the stores I shop at has a sign that states that debit cards with a chip require the PIN to be used (which doesn't work with the PayPal card unless you have funds in the PayPal account). I've not tried to use my bank's chip debit card at a store since it was issued, so I don't know if this is a one-off or a general requirement everywhere for chip debit cards.
Occasionally I go inside the branch to get cash (I like 5s and 10s) and it's much quicker to get a teller withdrawal using your debit card versus cashing a check. Because of this I generally keep it in my wallet, although it doesn't get much use other than this.
I haven't used my debit card in months. Don't know if I ever will again. Can get cash at the register with Discover if needed.
