Only when I'm in Vegas and running into some...er...bad luck.
I stopped regularly using a debit card around 6 years ago, mainly for rewards and security reasons. In the event of fraud, banks are much more motivated to resolve issues when it is their money that is compromised rather than your own. I keep all debit cards at home, and I keep my old student ID on me that doubles as a debit card if I ever need a few bucks.
Just now, I watched a report on the news about the increase in skimmer scams at bank-owned ATMs. The suggestion is to use an ATM inside the bank, not outside.
So no, I don't use my debit card except to get cash inside my bank or via the drive thru.
Surprised that more people don't use Discover Cashback Checking, especially for the small purchases. Coupled with their 2X promos every now and then, and the fact that you can transfer it to Discover It cashback account and then get great value using the gift card redemptions, it's a no brainer unless the terminal doesn't take Discover.

And "gebit" cards can also be useful for those that do that sort of thing
Well with Citi Dividend and Chase Freedom's cashback categories this quarter, a gebit may be in order. We'll see.
Credit all the way. I do keep my BoA debit card in the wallet just in case there is a rare time when I'll need access to instant cash. Haven't had this happen yet but it does give me a sense of security knowing it's in my wallet.

If memory serves me I believe Debit Card was the name of an old wooden ship that was used during the Cival War era.
I use my debit card every week for Costco, looking forward to them accepting Visa credit cards.
I still carry mine. And mostly use it if I need to get som cash. Sometimes I use it if I'm close to my statement cut off and I don't want any additional balance reporting.
