I guess I don't need a budget.
All of my expenses are more than willing to tell me how much i owe and when at no additional charge.
Fair enough; apologies for my bot-like post.
I was active here many years ago, and people generally liked YNAB (but many people had their own systems, including some very pretty xls). I would like to get back into it to fine tune my expenditures, but I'm not sure if YNAB is still the go-to. From discussions elsewhere, it looks like it is, but I figured I'd check here to see if there are other options that achieve something similar (I like zero based budgeting but I'm sure something else will come along). Also, it's now $15/month, which I find exorbitant over the long term.
I just use excel. Can tweak for your needs and no monthly fee.

I, too, almost reached for the 'Report button'.
I used YNAB years ago, but I had no idea it started charging a fee. I guess that's where every app is headed.

There are a plethora of budgeting templates available online as well that you can customize without having to start from scratch. There are all levels, basic to the most advanced and some are quite attractively designed.
