direct deposit and W4 issues

So i recently got a great a opportunity to work with a Marriott hotel. So their onboarding and paperwork can be done online; and I did it on my phone. My main concern is that when I did the direct deposit form and it said the amount I should put in and I left it at zero. And then on the W4 at the very end , when it asked for the total allowables I put 1 or 2 , Im single and not married. So I tried my best to fill out the forms. So hopefully, I don’t screw up my money.

You can always submit a new W-4 with changes if you need to. Smiley Happy

And a new Direct Deposit form too!

Neither of those forms relies on Open Enrollment or "qualifying events". You can revise those every day if you have no other hobbies and/or hate your new HR department. Smiley Happy Seriously, no stress. Enjoy your new job!

Re: direct deposit and W4 issues

Many employers will allow you to direct your deposit into multiple accounts.  I have my check split into 3 different banks.  If it is the only Direct Deposit on file it should all default into that one.

It is almost impossible to end up with anything less than 2 for exemptions on your W-4 if it is your primary job.  You don't have to use the worksheet on the top, the only thing that matters is what is written in the bottom portion, I always kept it at 1 when I was single so that there was no chance I was going to have to pay the government at the end of the year.
