basically trying to get $250 as a reward for opening my first checking account (broke college student).
I've met the other criteria, I just need to do a recurring direct deposit of $100. But the thing is I don't work, or have social security payments or dividend payments, etc.
Is there any way to bypass this? Can I give a friend $100 and ask them to deposit it from their bank to my checking account as a recurring direct deposit? Or would he need to register him self as a business to do something like that?
Is there any way around this so I can get the $250 reward? Could really use the money
Welcome to myFICO,
There are some creative minds on the boards and they may have some thoughts.
If you feel comfortable please provide a few more details about the direct deposit requirement. You could provide the name of the bank or cut and paste the wording in the offer.
If you do find a solution please let us know how you were able to solve the problem.
Good luck!
You can get around this at some banks by submitting a check through the mobile deposit.
I am able to qualify for a monthly fee waiver with Wells Fargo each month by doing an ACH transfer from my USAA checking account to my Wells Fargo checking account.
Wells Fargo treats the incoming transfer as a 'direct deposit'; I've been doing this monthly for a few years now. If you do a transfer from your existing checking to the new account each month, that might do the trick.
