100% of Debt Paid Off! Next Steps ??

Morning all,

I paid off over $22K of debt two weeks ago and I'm hoping to see this reflected as quickly as possible on my credit reports. Is it recommended to call each credit line and request an updated reflection be submitted? Or do I merely have to wait the 30 day cycle for all lines to report the new $0 balance?

Is it worth signing up for the MyFico paid subscriptions? Or sign up for each service with Equifax, Transunion and Experian? Also saw an ad the other day for dispute beast anyone give that a go?

Thanks in advance!

Congratulations on getting your debt paid off.  As far as asking creditors to do off cycle reporting, some will, some won't.  It will be up to you whether or not to ask them.  Otherwise you'd just wait for them to report organically.

Signing up for Fico subscriptions is again your personal preference, some find value in it, some don't.  In regards to Dispute Beast, their main focus is to separate you from your money and that's about the extent of it.   You can get your accurate reports for free once every seven days from  Annual Credit Report  (minus your scores).  If everything on your reports is accurate there's nothing to dispute and disputing accurate information can often have unwanted consequences.

Based on This post  you filed Chapter 13 BK.   Is this filing date accurate?

I can understand wanting to see the update, but unless you get them all to do an immediate, you really don't have the whole picture. Id just wait.

A lot of people pay for scores. Myself, I go with the free ones. My FICO free sub gives eq fico 8. Credit Wise provides tu FICO 8 and Experian provides their FICO 8. After just getting out of debt, I wouldn't be looking for another expense.

who did you pay off the debt with? some banks can do off-cycle reporting, some do not.

but if there's been extended carried balances or late payments, just let them report it naturally

Appreciate it, yeah I'll call and see if I can get an off cycle update, but most should report over the next 10 days anyways. Thanks so much for saving me the dispute beast money!!
