12 Collection accounts GONE!!

A while I go I posted a thread on how some collection accounts were being re-aged on my EX report. I had proof from an old CR back from 2006. So, I typed out a letter made copies of that report and sent it in to EX. I never received any type of notice other than the GC but after about a week they were labeled in dispute. So, today after about 3 weeks of these TL being in dispute I logged on to check and was pleasantly surprised. ALL 12 WERE DELETED! Smiley Happy I am so very happy about this. Now I'm down to three baddies on my EX and two of those are in dispute and another one (CC CO) will drop in January of 2009. There is still an issue with these same 12 accounts on my EQ reports however. I haven't disputed with EQ about these yet. I was hoping someone might be able to give me some advice on what I should do. Would it be wise to dispute these as being re-aged on my EQ even though I don't the same proof as I had with EX?

Yes all 12 had been re-aged. I suspect they are doing on my EQ report as well but I don't have the same proof.

Re: 12 Collection accounts GONE!!

EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!

Because you do not have proof to send other CRA.....I would NOT dispute yet. I would send the past SOL and CRTP letter to the CA reporting  CMRRR  do not sign it just type your name.

I would give them 5 days to delete.    Do NOT tell them that it has been deleted by 1 CRA............do not give them any info. at all.

Be ready to file a lawsuit in federal court (you can file in state court or small claims) BUT  IM thinking that you would do better i fed.court as this is a fed.violation.   this is a last resort!

Send a complaint to the ftc!!!  www.ftc.gov      they do not like re-aging!

RE: [insert account number or name of account or name of debt]:
Dear [insert collector's name or company name],
This letter is in response to your [letter dated xx-xx-2005] (copy enclosed) or [phone call on xx-xx-2005], concerning the collection of the above referenced [account or date].
I do not believe I owe what you say I owe therefore I dispute this debt. I am well aware of my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and my state laws so I hope to save both of us a great deal of time by letting you know that not only do I dispute the validity of this debt, I have also checked with my State Attorney General and verified that the Statute of Limitations for enforcing this type of debt through the courts in (insert your state or the state in which the contract was signed) has expired. Therefore, should you decide to pursue this matter in court I intend to inform the court of my dispute of this debt and that the "statute of limitations" has expired.
This letter is your formal notification that I consider this matter closed and demand that you, or anyone affiliated with your company, stop contacting me regarding this or any other matter except to advise me that your debt collection efforts are being terminated or that you or the creditor are taking specific actions allowed by the FDCPA or my state laws.
Be advised that I consider any contact not in accordance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act a serious violation of the law and will immediately report any violations to my State Attorney General, to the Federal Trade Commission and, if necessary, take whatever legal action is necessary to protect myself. Be advised that I tape record all phone calls and violations of the FDCPA can result in you or your company being personally fined up to $1,000 per incident. You have 5 days to notify the reporting agencies to delete.

Re: 12 Collection accounts GONE!!

On EX you know how they report this account is scheduled to continue on record until XXX,XXXX Well on my EX report these TL in Sept 2007 were Scheduled to continue until Feb 09 Then when I pulled an EX report in April 2008 I noticed They now said scheduled to continue until March 09. At this point I decided to look through some of my even older reports and I discovered one from Sept 2006 and the accounts were scheduled to continue on record until Sept 2008. So, now knew something was up and I then made copies of the Sept 2006 report and sent it in to EX along with a dispute letter.

Re: 12 Collection accounts GONE!!

This is a very good example why you need to keep all hard copies of your CR. You should pull a new CR even if you are sure that there are no changes at least once a year!

Once something is delete from your CR  you can't get the info.again BUT you can look back on older reports to check dates & things.

Re: 12 Collection accounts GONE!!

Oh boy, I didn't even think of that. Considering the circumstances I wonder if EX would allow the CA to re-post the TL. Or worse if they report to another CRA such as TU.
