Account Previously In Dispute - Now Resolved - Reported By Subscriber

I had submitted a round of goodwill letters to Cap One , including an email to the EO which was denied. I had clearly stated in all that I was trying NOT disputing anything. I never heard anything back from the others. I looked at my experian report today and my cap one account had this note "Account Previously In Dispute - Now Resolved - Reported By Subscriber". Might be a stupid question but.. what does this indicate and what should my steps be moving forward?

It's my only account with derogatory items and it's  approaching a year since the lates(2-90 day lates).

It means that a furnisher reported that you filed a direct dispute with them, and that they have concluded the disute by sending their Notice of Results to the consumre..

If you dispute via a CRA,, they are the decision maker who conducts the reinvestigatiion and mails the Notice of Results, concluding the dispute.

If you file a direct dispute, the CRA is not party to the process, and is notified of the dispute and its resolution.

If you did, in fact, file a direct dispute, it is good, in that it indicates there is no longer a pending dispute flag.

However, if you did not file a direct dispute, you may want to challenge that posting to correct the record.

The obvious dilimma is that you dont want to file a dispute with the CRA to contest/remove the recordation of a dispute, so you might wish to contact the CRA informally so as to avoid a dispute.

Thank you very much. This was a great explanation.
