Update!!!

I got my offer back! After a lengthy waiting period, I received my offer again and entered an arrangement to pay the past due balance. I plan to pay this off sooner than agreed, so I should have my Optima prior to the end of the calendar year!

Congrats! I'm glad everything worked out for you in the end.

Re: Amex Optima offer/approval criteria

I just received the same email "Limited Time offer to get your card Membership back". Question is it better to PIF or their second option to settle for a lesser amount. The Optima card is only offered with the PIF process. I would love to get back with AMEX.

if you want back with Amex, PIF no question

if paying in full means rent doesn't get paid, by all means take care of yourself first, but if you want any hope getting back w/amex, follow through on Optima, prove to amex you're okay now and rebuild the relationship

If you want an AMEX in the future definitely PIF. They provide installment options, choose the one that fits your situation!

Re: Amex Optima offer/approval criteria

Congrats! I've had my offer for several months now and kept putting it off, assuming I was permanently screwed with them. However,  this thread has made me reconsider and I just completed the signup.

Great company. I'd hate to be on the outs with them.

Re: Amex Optima offer/approval criteria

Yes I did. I had 2 offers to come back to them. I did one PIF with payments and the other a settlement to pay off. I will see later this year if that paid off. Hoping so.

I am planning on doing the same thing. Hopefully the process goes smooth and we can move forward! If I do the settlement, I will get a bigger percentage off of what I am owing.

Re: Amex Optima offer/approval criteria

I received an Optima offer in November 2022 and have diligently paid each month. I have two payments remaining and after jumping through some hoops trying to reconnect with the agency (seems to be out of India?), they confirmed that I will receive my Optima 'application' after the remaining two payments are made. Does anyone have any experience going through that 'application' process? My family was one of those hit very hard by COVID-19, but I am now current on all open cards.

Re: Amex Optima offer/approval criteria

Hey - I recently received an Optima offer in February paid off the entire amount on Feb 23. Today March 18 I received the application the mail. I filled it out and mail back today. I still have one unpaid Amex bill but I still received the offer. I will let you know once I hear back and if I am approved. Based on the listed requirements that Amex provided - I meet all of them so fingers crossed. 🤞🏼

Re: Amex Optima offer/approval criteria

Congrats on your abilty to pay off the Amex account and reestablish your relationship with them.

With the Optima program, the only criteria is that you pay your Amex balance in full and not have a BK. Once you get the Optima card, you just have to wait 7-12 months to apply for another Amex product. You should settle your other accounts before you apply for another Amex product.
