Hey everyone
I have been a holder of BOFA CC since 2011, a "preferred client" as they said but two months ago, we hit an unexpected snag
- I asked to replace my CC because of one suspicious activity.
- The established auto-payment did not work. Called and was told that replacing cards voids auto-payment.
- Established auto-payment later.
- Got so busy with some exams. Out of the blue, my credit monitoring site sent me an alert about a late payment posted by BOFA.
- Looked up and it was 30 days late fee, I immediately paid the balance.
- Called to know that Auto-pay takes two payment cycles.
Among all that confusion, my score dropped by a whopping 90 points, and I have a late payment stigma on my report. I asked to remove it but nothing yet.
This is very unfortunate since I am applying for a job and a credit check may not be a good sign, not to mention anything else in the future. I have other cards, never late on my payments.
Here is a photo of my payment history
Any advice how to resolve this misfortunate situation?
Thanks
Did you pay after it became late, but before the period of delinqency reached 30 days after the due date?
Paying late does not become reportable to a CRA until it has been late for at least 30 days.
paid after 30 days, unfortunately
Call the EO on Monday. If they refuse, file with the BBB because the EO takes those complaints very seriously.
it's ridiculous that an autopay gets canceled because of a card number change, and more ridiculous that they take 2 statements to start autopaying. I'd complain with BBB if they don't fix it with immediacy -- that way, other consumers who pay attention to the BBB will be warned.

Thanks for taking the time
How to reach the Executive Office? I could google CEO email, and that's it
I would first write down your story for your own purposes including any positive facts. "I've been with Bank of America since..." -- just single line statements. You don't want to come off as angry, you want to come off as literally STUNNED that you have a relationship with them but they don't have a relationship with you. No phone call warnings, no mention of the autopay not taking effect until 2 months by the CSRs, etc. You're not mad, you're flabbergasted.
Do not threaten BBB with anyone. Email the EO Monday morning, then give them a ring.
I have no idea if these numbers are correct but try them all: https://consumerist.com/2008/10/07/reach-bank-of-america-executive-customer-relations/
Write down the name of everyone you talk to and a small note as to what they said. Tell them you are going to be applying for new jobs soon and this negative note may have a lasting effect on your job options.
Thanks
The info in the link is outdated, the CEO has changed
This one looks more relevant, I will email two of the executives

So I wrote to EO twice, got repeated calls from an office called "Credit reporting resolution team" but they usually called in absurd times and I could not pick up. I left many VM to my caller but she never called back.
It has been 10 days since last call and nothing happened since; I am so disappointed.
Any advice on next steps?
