Applying for credit while disputing

Basically it says it on the title I was wondering if it's a bad idea to apply for a credit while your disputing.

A Charge off/collection  that was reinserted  after being deleted and I wasn't notified by experian before placing it back on credit profile.

A charge off definitely looks bad on a credit application. Remove it before applying if it is not valid.
